Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Prestige Edition)

Also available for: PC, Xbox360

Return to today's war front with the second chapter in the Modern Warfare series. Modern Warfare 2 continues the gripping and heart-racing action as players face off against a new threat dedicated to bringing the world to the brink of collapse. Playing as as Sgt. Gary "Roach" Sanderson, your international squad of elite soldiers battle through harrowing combat scenarios that range from snowy mountaintops in Siberia to the crowded streets of Rio de Janiero, Brazil and beyond, facing a terrorist force hellbent on redefining the boundary lines of today's modern warfare. Players can face the threat alone or with other players in cooperative SpecOps mode. For even more intense combat, take up arms against online foes in enhanced deathmatch warfare on a host of Modern Warfare 2 maps.

This Premium Collector's Edition puts extra payload in the package with a host of extra features, including a fully functioning pair of night vision goggles (with alternate vision modes and a Modern Warfare 2-branded, sculpted head stand), a collector's tin case, an artbook, and a token to download Call of Duty Classic (a reissue of the original game that started off the franchise.)

Ratings for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Prestige Edition)

Rating Description
8.5
Presentation The graphical presentation is great, but campaign’s storytelling needs work. Single player is short, and doesn’t entirely live up to the Call of Duty standard.
10
Graphics What was already an impressive graphical engine has only improved over the last two years. More effects, grander environments, and a truly spectacular overall visual offering.
10
Sound Along with graphical design, Modern Warfare 2’s audio is upped substantially. Authentic weapon sounds and more in-game chatter mix with a beautiful adaptive score by Hans Zimmer.
9
Gameplay There’s no single AC-130 “wow” moment in single player, but it’s fun throughout. Special Ops mode and multiplayer are must-play, and completely make the package.
10
Lasting Appeal While campaign is short, Spec Ops mode is an awesome addition to the package. Multiplayer is stronger than ever, and truly limitless in replay value.
